Parade Weekend Information

 

 

Parade Mass

The annual Parade Mass is scheduled for  Friday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 160 Main Street, Hartford .  This Mass will be celebrated in honor of the Parade Grand Marshal, Pat Keenan, the Person of the Year, The Most Reverend Henry Mansell, Archbishop of Hartford, and all the Parade Honorees and Participants. At the Mass, the Grand Marshal will be given his shillelagh (Irish walking stick) that he will carry as he leads the parade through the City of Hartford.  The traditional blessing of the shamrocks and the prayers for good weather will also be part of the Mass.

                  St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The parade will bFundraiserse Saturday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m.  Come down to the parade route early and get your seat!   The parade begins at Capitol Avenue by the State Capitol, takes a left on Main Street, a left on Asylum Street and then a left on Ford Street and ends by the Memorial Arch. The parade will be held rain or shine.  

For the 2008 Parade the towns will march in the following order.

Wethersfield

South Windsor

West Hartford

Manchester

Suffield

 

Please note there will be some road closures along the parade route before the parade. Parking is available in various lots and garages near the Hartford Civic Center area and Convention Center.
